Paperkraft.net Contest Winner

We started our first ever Paperkraft.net contest last Thursday and many of you signed-up for it, 302 (valid) entries to be exact. On Monday I started printing the list of emails that signed-up, I mentioned the word "valid" because I was surprised to find out that 17 of the entries opted for the anonymous route. I had to take them out of the list because it would be pointless to include them, if I can't see your email then I wouldn't be able to contact you if you win. Moving on, I cut them up a line per email, put them in our magic box and randomly selected a winner. Btw, the prize is a Page.A.Day Origami Calendar by Margaret van Sicklen.

And the winner is Vy Huynh of Washington. I've already contacted her and she has emailed us her mailing details, so Congratulations Vy!

To all that didn't win, better luck next time. But don't fret, our next contest is just a few days away. Keep an eye out for it.

Paper Airplane Contest - Kotaku

If you're a fan of flight/combat sims then check out Kotaku's contest for next weeks release of Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation (エースコンバット6 解放への戦火 Ēsu Konbatto Shikkusu Kaihō e no Senka) video game for the Xbox 360. All you have to do is make a "rad" paper airplane and the loot is yours, it includes the game itself, autographed photo (from game's producer and director), faceplates, and a flightstick set. They mentioned cut and glue, so I guess that includes paper crafts/paper models.

Paperkraft.net Contest

Although I've been online with this blog for over a year now, we never really got to celebrate it's first anniversary due to the fact that I was having some work related issues back in 2006. This site started on February of that year and I stopped posting around September, I was M.I.A for 5 months and just recently got back on track (started posting again February 2007). You can clearly see this gap that I'm talking about on the Archives, but eventhough I had some setbacks, people still supported the site and I thank you greatly for that.

I counted the months, and we're past the 12 count, so I think today would be as good as anyday to celebrate our anniversary. Starting this day until December, we'll be having contests to give away papercraft (anime/video game themed) and origami related merchandise. The prizes will vary depending on the complexity of the contests, I'm still trying to think of what types of contests to conduct so feel free to give any suggestions.

Our first contest will be simple, it's going to be a random drawing from my subscribers list, If your a subscriber then you don't have to do a thing because you're automatically entered, if you're not a subscriber yet, then you have until Sunday (October 21, 2007) to enter.

This contest is open to everybody in the world were USPS delivers, you will be responsible for any tax that may arise in your respective country. I'm in the U.S. so keep that in mind.

The price is a Page.A.Day Origami Calendar by Margaret van Sicklen. I haven't opened it yet so I don't know what's inside, but it's quite heavy for a calendar (1lb. 8oz.). On the description, it says that it has hundreds of models complete with instructions, perfectly-square-full-color decorated pages, and comes with a 16-page "Origami Key". I've taken photos of it with a dollar bill for size comparison, also check out the preview of the other prizes that await you. That's it for today, good luck, and thanks once again.

Otacute Paper Model & Photo Contest - Kaho Papercraft (Mascot)

figure and hobby shop Otacute is having a papercraft/photo contest, they've provided a paper model of their mascot Kaho, assemble and take photos of it.

C-Myk Paper Toy & Colours' Attack Contest

PopSetPaper.com is conducting a customization/design contest with a main goal of contributing to the financing of UNESCO's Seal of Excellence for Handicrafts programme.

Shin Tanaka has provided the paper toy ("C-Myk") that you'll be using for this contest. Follow the link below to download the template, once you've personalized/customized your C-Myk paper toy make sure to take a photo of it against a white background and the image size cropped to 370 x 370 pixels.

If your C-Myk is selected it will be flying off to London where, from 30th June to 4th July, it will take part in the New Blood 2011 international design exhibition, organised by D&AD*. 2010 Halloween Papercraft Photo Contest

Contest time once again, get your camera, papercrafts / paper models / paper toys ready , we're going to have a spooktacular time!

I wanted to get this contest started before the weekend starts and I didn't have enough time to create some new graphics for our contest, so I just recycled last year's Halloween photo and did a little bit of editing ^^.

Using your existing papercrafts / paper toys and a little bit of creativity, create a Halloween-themed scene and take a photo of it. It can be funny spooky or terrifyingly gloomy, it's up to you.

This contest is open to everybody (worldwide), it starts today and ends in October 31, 2010 CST. We'll do another photo contest, but this time it'll be a little different. Instead of you posting your pics, I'll be the one doing that and all you have to do is answer a question with regards to it - pay special attention to how the question is asked.

The photos that I'm going to post are either cropped or blurred so as to obfuscate it a bit.

You have to be a fan/member of Paperkraft.net on Facebook in order to join.
